Peter Ellis, Chairman
Peter has been an Independent Chairman, Director and CEO for over 25 years with New Zealand and multinational companies involved in manufacturing, distribution, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), food, agribusiness, banking and health. He joined the board as an independent director and chairman in 2016. Peter is married to Fiona and lives in Havelock North. They have two adult children.
Steve Wyn-Harris, Independent Director
Steve is a well-known farmer, broadcaster, columnist and director with a farming career that began in 1985. Steve’s corporate experience includes having served on the boards of Landcorp (2003-2007) and Farmlands (2006-2012). As an independent director on our board since 2016, Steve chairs the Fund Managers Central Limited audit, risk & compliance committee. He and wife, Jane, live in rural Central Hawke’s Bay.
Dinah Kennedy, Director
Dinah is a Consultant at Bramwell Bate Lawyers in Hastings and has practised law for over 30 years. She is an accredited Family Dispute Provider and has a strong background in the administration of Solicitors Nominee Company lending.
Dinah enjoys being on the golf course, tramping in the beautiful New Zealand outdoors or chalking up lengths at her local pool. Wine is another passion, and with her husband, she is a part owner of the successful Cornerstone Vineyard and label which produces gold medal Bordeaux style wines from grapes grown on the Gimblett Gravels.
Graham Throp, Director
Graham is a lawyer and consultant with the Hastings law firm of Bramwell Bate. He has been a Midlands director since 2004 and brings many years of nominee company lending experience to his role on the Midlands loans committee.
John Campbell, Director
John was the founding chairman of the board from 2004 to 2011, and has continued as a director from that time. He has been a partner with Waipukurau law firm, Davidson Armstrong & Campbell, since 1983 where he focusses on trusts, estates, commercial, farm succession planning and rural law. He and his wife, Marian, live on a small farm near Waipukurau and his interests outside work include skiing, mountain biking, tramping and occasional golf.
Ken Horner, Director
Ken is a third generation principal of Halliwells. He has an LLB from Auckland University and has been at Halliwells since 1976. His areas of expertise include financing, conveyancing, commercial, forestry ventures and administration of Trusts and Estates. Ken has been a director on the board since 2004. He lives with wife, Jennifer, near Hawera. Their property, Puketarata Garden, was listed as a garden of national significance by the New Zealand Gardens Trust in 2008.
Peter Hutchison, Director
Peter joined the board in 2016. A Chartered Member of the Institute of Directors and a Fellow of the NZ Institute of Management, he has vast experience in banking, finance and fund management. He is involved in a number of charitable and community organisations and is the President of the National Board of the Cancer Society of New Zealand. Peter and wife, Susan, live in Dunedin.
