Peter Harrison, General Manager

Peter came to Midlands Mortgage Trust in 2004 with a strong background in commercial management.  He has since guided the Fund through a global financial crisis and a major regulatory restructure of the New Zealand finance sector.  A South African qualified Chartered Accountant with more than 20 years senior management experience in Zimbabwe, he immigrated to New Zealand in 2002 and now lives in Havelock North.  Peter is a keen sailor and enjoys tennis, golf and skiing.

Doug Bailey, Commercial Manager

Doug comes to Midlands Mortgage Trust from a background of audit and assurance, business analysis and commercial management.  As a Chartered Accountant specialising in audit, he worked with financial advisors and financial institutions including credit unions, building societies and friendly societies.  Doug grew up on a Southern Hawke’s Bay farm and subsequently on a family orchard south of Hastings.  He has been back in Hawke’s Bay for over two decades and has two children born here.  Doug is a Justice of the Peace and is involved in jujitsu at local, national and international levels.

Mark Hardman, Senior Loans Manager

Mark comes to Midlands Mortgage Trust from a strong background in banking and finance, having held senior positions in both New Zealand and Internationally. More recently he has owned his own finance company and is also currently the president of Hawkes Bay Debt Advisory a registered charity assisting the local community and promoting financial literacy. Mark has a postgraduate diploma in Management & Business, he enjoys Golf, reading and spending time with his family

Tony Brooker, Loans Manager

After 40 years working for Westpac Bank, Tony retired from banking but missed it so much he returned, beginning his involvement with Midlands Mortgage Trust. A business banking manager for 14 years, Tony also managed both Westpac’s Hastings and Napier branches.  He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role, which includes analysis of loan applications and sitting on the loans committee.   A proud Cantabrian, Tony and family moved to Hawke’s Bay in 1983 and now lives in Napier.  In his spare time, he enjoys tramping in the hills and spending time with family and friends.

Wendy Babe, Loans Administration Supervisor and Analyst

Wendy is Midlands Mortgage Trust’s Loans Administration Supervisor and Analyst, monitoring and reporting on loans, and providing customer service. She has a background in commercial property finance and retail banking in New Zealand and overseas.

Wendy has returned home to Hawke’s Bay with her partner and daughter after ten years overseas in London and Sydney. In her spare time Wendy enjoys travelling, paddle boarding, watching and playing sports, as well as spending time with family and friends.

Colleen Green, Investments and Administration Officer

Colleen joins us as our investments and administration officer. Colleen has had a varied career in administration management and started with us in early April. She is very approachable and can assist with all investor enquiry and has strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Colleen has her own home in Hastings and enjoys nurturing her lovely garden. She is passionate about the ‘Hawkes Bay’ lifestyle enjoying the local Farmers Markets in particular and the variety of cycle trails in the region.

Chandar Dudding, Loans and Administration Officer

Chandar is our loans and administration officer to help out with our growing loans portfolio and the increasing workload surrounding compliance. Chandar has previously had experience in the banking sector, a local law firm and administration of the family contracting business.

She and her partner are kept busy on their lifestyle block in Otane and in raising a growing family. She enjoys speedway and motorsports outside of work and is involved in breeding horses as well as competing in equestrian events.
